Der asymmetrische Handels-Deal ist eine Demütigung für die EU, aber sie reflektiert die realen Machtverhältnisse. Mehr war nicht drin. Hoffentlich lernen die Europäer daraus: Wirtschaftskraft stärken und militärische und technologische Abhängigkeit von den USA abbauen!

Europeans are paying a price every day for not preparing realistically for the possibility of Donald Trump returning to power. They had ample warning, the possibility was staring them in the face, but they blew it. The question is whether they will learn (finally).

Ein paar Bemerkungen zum so genannten EU-US Zolldeal: (1/10) Ein trauriger Tag für den Freihandel: 15% Zoll auf EU-Waren in den USA ist besser als 20 oder 30%, keine Frage. Aber der „Deal“ ist teuer erkauft. Vielleicht zu teuer.
