Our portfolio company, BlueSphere Bio, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new, state-of-the-art custom lab space. Special thanks to bill peduto, @ACE_Fitzgerald, and Bruce A. Kraus for coming to show support. Congratulations, BlueSphere!

Check out my Immunology Podcast, just posted by Immunology Podcast . Enjoyed chatting with Brenda and Jason about how basic research can lead to applications. I talk about starting the personalized cancer immunotherapy company BlueSphere Bio with my brother Warren. Mark Shlomchik Lab

The Shlomchik lab, in a group effort led by Dr. Claire Leibler, former postdoctoral fellow, has published their work in Nature Immunology on how TLR9 has both negative and positive regulatory functions in lupus. The links are here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36151396/ nature.com/articles/s4159…

In our latest Journal of Experimental Medicine study, we characterized age-associated B cells (ABCs) in a model of lupus. We found unexpected heterogeneity among ABC subpopulations, identified precursor-product relationships, and showed that reducing ABCs improved renal disease. A 🧵! (1/12)

Global Immunotalks Mark Shlomchik 2- which model are you using? what is triggering lupus in it? Is it known WHY one of the TLRs is protective and the other pathologic? Only the intracellular signaling? Different recognition of different nucleotides (from… self? Infections?) may have a role? THANSKS!!!

I'm thrilled that the very first paper from my lab, also my first senior author paper, is now online Cell Reports. cell.com/cell-reports/f…
