We packed up cameras and force plates and drove to Pittsburgh for USA Weightlifting Nationals. Emma and Wanda Sihanath even put together a poster & QR code with cool #weightlifting #biomechanics stuff. Anyone in Pittsburgh who wants to talk shop let me know, I'll buy coffee!

Slowly making my way to ISBS Annual Conference in Salzburg via the scenic route. I think Matteo Genitrini passed me twice ... Looking forward to seeing everyone soon! #Zirleseck #WillersAlpe

Early morning trail run up the #Gaisberg merits an extra bowl of the best Kellogg Company breakfast cereal ever - #Chocos!!! Hopefully it'll also help minimize DOMS for the remainder of ISBS Annual Conference

We are super excited for the release of part I of this series on the #biomechanics of Mykolas Alekna's WR discus throw just in time for the The Olympic Games. Thanks go to too many people to list here, but they're mentioned in the report! hmmrmedia.com/2024/07/analyz…

Part 2/4 of our #biomechanics report on Alekna's discus WR throw is now up on HMMR Media. It examines foot contact patterns and sub-phases of the delivery - perfect for anyone who's ever pondered the importance of double support during the delivery😀 hmmrmedia.com/2024/07/analyz… pic.x.com/WxbTpgletb

Part 3/4 on the #biomechanics of Mykolas Alekna's discus throw WR is now freely availabe at HMMR Media. And it's on one of my favorite technical aspects, the orbital path of the discus! So have a look and let me know if you have any questions. hmmrmedia.com/2024/07/analyz…

I am happy, grateful, and humbled to share my promotion to full professor at Marquette University and appointment as director of our exercise science program. Thanks to all who helped along the way. Let's continue to light flamethrowers rather than curse the darkness and #BeTheDifference

Part 4/4 on the #biomechanics of Mykolas Alekna's discus throw WR is now freely availabe at HMMR Media Just in time for the men's discus final at the Paris The Olympic Games. hmmrmedia.com/2024/08/analyz…

Congratulations Nayun Ahn on the first publication from your dissertation! Really cool study on muscular effort during the sit-to-stand task in young and old adults. sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Mike Haischer, Ph.D, CSCS Cara Lewis

I recently had the opportunity to travel with USA Weightlifting to Leon, Spain, for the International Weightlifting Federation Jr World Champs to conduct in-comp biomechanical analyses. It was an amazing experience. Thanks to so many people, but especially MarcosSoriano1991 for your help and hospitality.

One of the most impressive lifts from the 2024 IWF Jr WC's in Leon, Spain. This was Guan Ling Chen's 98kg snatch from the 55kg A session. Totally amazing. Ghostfacedmillah and I talk a bit more in depth about weightlifting in this podcast, recorded in Leon! youtube.com/watch?v=njdE_o…
