The newly reopened Northumberland line already has outperformed it's estimated patronage by 500% with only half of its stations open! At what point do we consider our methods for appraisal unfit for their purpose? Every rail project in Scotland too has outperformed expectations!

Invasive vs invasive. This non-native Girdled Snail (Hygromia cinctella) was fatally attacked by the flatworm Marionfyfea adventor, originating from New Zealand.

1/ This is rank bullshit. JD and his colleagues have publicly accused a guy who is languishing in a Salvadorean torture-prison of being MS-13. They've presented no proof of this. JD could, NOW, work to end this obvious miscarriage of justice. Instead he's mad I'm being 'smug.'

I am very sorry that her daughter was murdered but we don’t get to grieve by picking an unrelated person of the same race to spend the rest of their life in a concentration camp.

Truly dark times when the White House starts defending imprisoning random people overseas without a trial because someone of the same ethnic group comitted a crime. Complete with a ''Gulf of America'' map in the background. Republicans can't claim to uphold small government.

This is the first genuinely serious AI safety issue I've seen and it should be addressed immediately, model rollback until they have it fixed should be on the table

A lot of countries basically are caught in a trap from which there is no escape. 1) They have a lot of old people. They need healthcare, pensions, etc. This is *incredibly* expensive. 2) More old people means less tax money, more tax burden on the increasingly few working people

I found a pupa this winter and kept it in the shed to see what would emerge. Today this beautiful Poplar Hawk-moth erupted.
