Two of the most outstanding entries into my ANZAC Day writing competition came from the wonderful schools of St Brendan’s Primary School, Ganmain and Matong Public School. It was a privilege to visit and deliver students Grace Kelly and Noah Burns book prizes for their works.

A privilege to attend the Royal Australian Engineers Corps’ Wagga Wagga Special Activation Precinct Kapooka Tragedy road naming ceremony. In honour of the soldiers who lost their lives, roads in the precinct will be named after those killed or injured in the 21 May 1945 incident.

It has been 80 years since an explosion in a training bunker took the lives of 26 of Australia’s best & bravest – the worst training accident in the nation’s military history. The disaster has been marked with a solemn ceremony attended by relatives of the victims from across 🇦🇺.
