Suicide as a frontline workers is too common and always heartbreaking. 1:4 first responders have PTSD and 25% of those with PTSD will attempt suicide. Thank you Leah Tatebe for speaking at Cook County EM bringing more awareness of PTSD in first responders and self compassion.

I first met Sheryl Heron in 2009 on a beach in St. Croix as a high school student asking for advice on how to become a doctor..now full circle at #SAEM23 both as EM docs seeing her recieve recognition from #ADIEM for her lifetime of dedication to DEI. It’s an honor.
