Interesting to compare the relative bridge velocity of tBTC vs WBTC. Since tBTC redemptions went live in late July 2023, ~19,000 BTC has crossed the bridge on a current TVL of ~3,400 BTC. In the same time, ~29,000 WBTC mints+burns on a current TVL of ~153,000 BTC.

Privacy wins. Today the Fifth Circuit held that Treasury Department’s sanctions against Tornado Cash smart contracts are unlawful. This is a historic win for crypto and all who cares about defending liberty. Coinbase 🛡️ is proud to have helped lead this important challenge. 1/6

Elon's secret is that he just picks the institutional and organizational low-hanging fruit that everyone else is too blind or apathetic to pick. Taking a personal org census of 5 minutes per employee or asking what parts cost to build from first principles—everyone can do this.

Over the last few months, I've heard a lot of questions around the validity of the various Zama patent filings (apparently too vague and/or based in prior art). IIRC, only one has been approved and only in one jurisdiction. Would be interesting to put together a coalition of

Ever since Mark Rizzn Hopkins told me he was working with Threshold I knew I had to do a deep dive. Their tBTC trustless wrapped Bitcoin offering might actually lure me back into using Bitcoin again. Thanks MacLane Wilkison for the great chat, really excited to see where Threshold goes from

In my latest essay I weigh in on the controversial issue of how to deal with quantum vulnerable bitcoin in a post-quantum future. After great consideration, I think it's best if we burn quantum vulnerable coins. blog.lopp.net/against-quantu…
