Congratulations to our German postdoc Johannes Grosskopf (Johannes Großkopf) who has been awarded the 2024 Albert-Weller award by the German Chemical Society GDCh Division of Photochemistry for his outstanding contributions to photochemistry as a young academic. Well done, Johannes!

It was a pleasure for the MacMillan Group to host high school organic chemistry students from the Trevor Day School in NYC today. Thanks to Andria Pace Princeton Women in Chemistry, Will Lyon, and David MacMillan for giving them an idea of what we do here at Frick Lab!

Our latest chemical biology paper is out now in JACS! We developed a platform to profile the phagocytic surface proteome in a temporally resolved manner. Congrats to Sean, Jacob and James! Sean Huth Jacob Geri James Oakley

Spring into some great seminars from POCC ! Next week's installment is Princeton Chemistry very own David MacMillan for our Allan Day award lecture. Prof, MacMillan will be discussing research from MacMillan Group including organocatalysis, photoredox catalysis, and microenvironment

Want to selectively couple two radicals?... You're in luck! Check out our newest work in Nature where we use dynamic orbital selection to unlock alkylation of native aryl C–H bonds. Congrats to Johannes Großkopf, Charlene, Robert, and Alex! Read more at: nature.com/articles/s4158…

Thrilled to announce that Brandon Bloomer of the MacMillan Group has been named a 2025 Beckman Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in the chemical sciences, one of just 14 across the country. Congratulations, Brandon! Announcement here: bit.ly/3S1KAvr

Alcohols + aryl acids = C(sp3)–C(sp2) bonds! In collaboration with The Long Group & Merck Boston, we combine NHC-deoxygenation & Ni-catalyzed decarbonylation to link overlooked building blocks. Congrats Eva, Johnny, Edna, Stephanie, Kurtis, Cesar & Ryan! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

‘Tis the season! Here, Noah Bissonnette of the MacMillan Group during his dissertation defense, and being introduced by adviser David MacMillan. Best of luck to all graduate students defending this spring! You are our future.
