Let’s gooo! 🔥 Both our 2010 and 2011 MI Hawks squads are heading to the ECNL Finals! Let’s bring it home! ⚽🏆Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls

Post 2: Dec 2024: ⚽ Training felt harder 💨 Out of breath on easy runs 😵 Dizzy when standing ❤️🔥 Fast heart rate 💥 Constant headaches & fatigue I thought I was just out of shape. So, I trained harder. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 3: By March 2025: Nothing worked. I finally told my parents. Diagnosis? POTS. Advice? Stop exercising until I saw a cardiologist. But my gut told me it wasn’t POTS. So, I kept training. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 4: 3 months later: 🩸 Iron: 14 (low) 🩸 Iron Saturation: 3% 🩸 Ferritin: “almost undetectable” (2) 🩸 Hemoglobin: 8.2 (should be 11.5–14.5) I didn’t just feel tired… I had severe iron deficiency anemia. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer

Post 5: Somehow, I was still playing competitive soccer through it. Multiple doctors asked “How are you playing?” I wasn’t. I was losing playing time. I couldn’t keep up. And it crushed me. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 6: Started with iron pills → too slow (3–6 months). I needed help NOW. Met with a hematologist → IV iron infusions ordered. This was the turning point. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 7: First infusion ✅ Small steps forward, but they’re adding up. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 8: New labs after infusion #1: Ferritin: 29 (up!) Iron Saturation: 14% Hemoglobin: 11.9 MCHC: low but trending I’m not where I want to be yet… but I’m finally moving in the right direction. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 9: 💉 Another infusion done 🗓 Recheck in 1 month, then 3 months ⚡ Already feeling the difference This is what turning things around looks like. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 11: Iron infusions aren’t magic overnight. I’m still rebuilding my fitness. I’m still earning my minutes back. But every drip is one step closer to the player I was and the player I will be again. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 12: This occurred at a terrible time — my recruiting year. But I’m not done. I’m coming back stronger, smarter, and hungrier than ever. If you’re an athlete struggling with fatigue: don’t push through it. Get answers. Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer

Post 13: One infusion at a time. One lab draw at a time. One step closer every day. ⚽️ #IronRecovery #HealthJourney #FemaleAthletes Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer TopDrawerSoccer

Post 1: ⚽ From “Out of Shape” to Iron Infusion How I went from running on empty to finally getting answers and why every female athlete should read the next 13 posts (the number of years I have been playing soccer). 👇 Michigan Hawks ECNL Girls SoccerWire ECNL/GA/Recruiting/College Soccer
