S1 pupils at Madras College have had the opportunity to view a powerful photographic exhibition by documentary photographer Nick Sidle. It shows images of the conflict in Kosovo from 25 years ago.

The exhibition was followed up with assemblies exploring the Madras school values of respect and diversity and the experience of refugees.

Higher Modern Studies pupils had a great visit to the Scottish Parliament where they had the opportunity meet MSPs. Thanks to the Scottish Parliament for being so helpful.

Madras College had a visit from Daniel Greenberg CB Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. He provided a fascinating insight into the the work of the UK Parliament.

We have had a successful month at the Fife and National Burns Festival. Congratulations to Thomas, Sophie, Euan, Robert and Jonah for winning prizes on the day in Singing, Instrumental and Recitation. Robert went on to achieve a 3rd in the National Competiton in Gourock.

Well done the the pupils who took part in the Model United Nations in Aberdeen in Saturday. The school were representing China.

Fife Youth Orchestra. Madras College was represented by 21 young people at the Fife Youth Orchestra's concert at the Rothes Hall in Glenrothes. A huge thanks to the music department and Fife music instructors. It was a fantastic concert.

Dear Parent/Carer, It has been agreed that, for Friday 24 January, all Fife Council schools and early years settings will be closed to all young people and staff. This is to reduce the risk of any incidents travelling to school.

Teaching staff will upload a specific task or activity to Teams for all timetabled classes on Friday, along with links to any other relevant resources that may be useful. Teachers will do their best to check in via the Teams app to offer support

Beyond lessons for tomorrow, for any S5/6 pupils scheduled to be sitting preliminary examinations tomorrow, Friday's diet will be re-scheduled and held on Friday 7th February.
