Maine Forest Rangers are assisting Wesley firefighters at a wildfire on Airline Road involving a garage. We sent a Ranger, an engine and a helicopter (Ranger 915). Structure protection in place and the wildfire has been contained. #MEfire

Maine Forest Service's "Task Force Whiskey" is making a sweep of side roads off the Golden Road and State Road for other leftover campfires. They found two in T3 Indian Purchase Township already, NW of Millinocket. Ranger Thomas Liba is our Task Force Leader. #MEfire

Ranger 905 Helitack assisted Old Town Fire-Rescue with a small wildfire near Pushaw Lake. Our flight crew found the fire, called it in, landed and immediately went to work to contain it. The cause is under investigation.

Maine Forest Rangers have been working to contain a wildfire on Route 9 in T30 MD, West of Wesley. The cause of the fire was a tractor trailer whose trailer loaded with rolled paper caught fire. The Wesley Vol. Fire Department with mutual aid help has the trailer fire contained.

T30 MD - Rangers, MFS Engines 6197 and 6144, along with Ranger 905 have been wrangling the wildfire. Washington SO is helping with traffic control. The road is now opened with one lane passable. No structures are threatened. We have the fire 75% contanied at 6.5 acres.

With yesterday's lightning, we were actively patrolling areas in Maine hit by storms in search of lightning caused wildfires. We had several manned aircraft flights and, as pictured here, our Ranger UAS (drone) pilots were busy too. We flew over 50 drone missions on Friday.
