01.07.1942|Antoni Bielas was arrested by the German functionaries in Częstochowa. In January 1943 he was transferred to #Majdanek & registered as prisoner no. 9142. He remained at the camp until his evacuation to Gross-Rosen in April 1944 & then to Mauthausen-Gusen. He survived.

02.07.1943|The German chemical company Tesch & Stabenow (TESTA) informed the administrative offices of KL Lublin – #Majdanek that they are unable to set a precise deadline for the next shipment of Zyklon B. The given reason was the producer’s being overwhelmed with orders.

Early July 1942| #Majdanek authorities reported to the SS Construction Office (Zentralbauleitung) in Lublin that the camp sentry towers were at 80% completion. All 8,8m watchtowers were erected and equipped with searchlights. 8 had full covering, 10 had a covered room on top.

04.07.1941|Jan Zakrzewski was arrested by the Sondergruppe Nachtigall troops in Lviv. Locked at the Łącki St. Gestapo prison he was deported to #Majdanek in January 1943 registered as inmate no. 1619. He escaped from the final evacuation transport in July 1944 & survived the war.

05.07.1943|#Majdanek commandant Hermann Florstedt ordered stricter control of the civilians employed at the camp grounds. All civil workers were to be carefully searched and all their bags opened by the sentry guards. Smugglers were to be arrested and detained at the camp.

In early July 1942, the SS Zentralbauleitung compiled a cost estimate for the gas chambers building covered with a large shed. Construction was scheduled between July and September. The first victims were murdered in the gas chambers of #Majdanek in late September 1942.

07.07.1942| The SS commenced the liquidation of the ghetto in Rzeszów. Nearly 50 victims were shot en route to the train station and nearly 200 inside the ghetto. Transport of ca. 4,000 Jews departed that day to the German Nazi extermination camp SS-Sonderkommando #Belzec.

08.07.1943|Dutch tinman, Hendrik Jacobs was registered at #Majdanek as prisoner no. 75. He was born on 21.02.1909 in Amsterdam. In spring 1944 he was transferred to #Natzweiler, in September to #Dachau. He was eventually liberated from Dachau’s Allach subcamp and survived WWII.

11.07.1942|Robert Eisenstädt, a German Jew, escaped from #Majdanek. While working at the construction of the prisoner field IV, he did not return for the evening roll-call but hid among the building materials, changed into civilian clothes, and left the camp unnoticed at night.

13.07.1943|1988 Jews were deported from #Westerbork in the Netherlands to the German Nazi extermination camp SS-Sonderkommando #Sobibor. Marcus Hamme wrote about his journey & threw the letter out of the train to inform others about their fate. The date reads: July 13, 1943.

14.07.1942|Over 80 Soviet POWs escaped from #Majdanek. They breached the sentry system by climbing over the barbed wire fences using a primitive ladder. It was the largest escape in the history of all the German Nazi concentration camps. More details at: tinyurl.com/mvtc5tzj

15.07.1942|Around 50 Soviet POWs were executed at #Majdanek. They decided not to participate in the mass escape, which took place the day before. They were all shot at the prisoner field II in order to mask the incompetence of the camp garrison and the commandant📷Karl Otto Koch.
