After a brief stop in Jakarta we are back in Sumatra to keep looking for paleotsunamis. And of course to pose for pictures with curious local kids wanting to practice their English. Very friendly family.

Fieldwork in Sumatra wrapped up. From Bintuhan to Semangka Bay in the south. Interesting sites, one of them hiding pumice from the 1883 Krakatau eruption. Most interestingly large sections of the coastline have no paleotsunami record. Very good news for residents, maybe? Narodowe Centrum Nauki
