Happening today Makerere University CAES: Exhibition of products developed by students from the School of Food Technology, Nutrition, & Bioengineering.

The School of Food Technology, Nutrition and Bio-Engineering (SFTNB) engages its students in the production of various products as a way of developing their graduate profile and improving their entrepreneurial skills.

Working in groups under the supervision of their lecturers, the students have developed various products including probiotic juice, mukene enriched peanut paste, tomato ketchup, beverages, jam, ice cream, yoghurts, and cakes.

The refurbishment was done by students from the Department of Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering Makerere University CAES.

Established in 1953, Makerere Univ. Agricultural Research Institute Kabanyolo (MUARIK) hosts a number of projects & research facilities for Makerere University CAES including the Mak Regional Centre for Crop Improvement (MaRCCI) & the Mak Centre for Soybean Improvement & Development (MakCSID)

The refurbishment of the main entrance gate at MUARIK will significantly enhance the aesthetics, security, accessibility, and sustainability of the institute.

The Vice Chancellor Makerere University represented by the First Deputy Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Buyinza Mukadasi commissions the refurbished Main Entrance Gate at MUARIK. The refurbishment was done by students from Makerere University CAES & Makerere University CEDAT.

This year, we aim to reposition MUARIK as a major hub of agricultural production-Makerere University CAES Principal at the commissioning of the refurbished main gate at MUARIK. The new entrance now embodies the true spirit of Makerere University.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Cyrus Ongom, outgoing Director of MUARIK, for his steadfast commitment to protecting MUARIK land, amidst several threats & challenges.
