I've seen the new set books of the CBC from National Curriculum Development Centre & I'm wondering, why are the Kenyans reigning? I'm aware of Clive Lewis having teaching experience in Uganda but really? Why do we have Imbuga twice? Are we entrenching the idea that Uganda is a literary desert? Argh!

From the moment we read your 'Minutes of Glory' and the famous 'A Mercedes Funeral' to the more complex 'Wizard of the Crow' and 'Devil on the Cross', your stories Ngugi wa Thiong'o meant much to us. You leave us with lots to ponder, laugh about, research, & critique. Rest well!

We share in the grief of the parents and relatives of our two students who have passed on. May their souls rest In Peace Makerere University News Makerere University
