It was informed by an exercise between NIRA and Mak Centre 4 Health & Population Research (MUCHAP) to scale up death registration in the districts of Iganga, Mayuge and Bugweri using a new and unique approach.
Mak Centre 4 Health & Population Research (MUCHAP) uses verbal autopsy and with interpretation of medical personnel, the possible cause or manner of death is determined. The exercise has seen a remarkable rise in death registration statistics in the selected sub counties.
