We have a new skills development project – Scottish Stonemasons’ Marks Project – for students interested in the heritage sector. Funded by Make Your Mark in Volunteering, it'll offer two trips to medieval sites, the first to Glasgow Cathedral on Thu 24 Oct 🏰. More ➡️ bit.ly/489veMK


We were at Glasgow Cathedral today with Access to Industry and the Scottish Stonemasons' Marks Project! Participants learned about stonemasons' marks, explored the cathedral to find marks and planned a follow-on session to record marks at another site.

We were at Linlithgow Palace yesterday with Access to Industry & the Scottish Stonemasons' Marks Project! Participants explored the palace to find marks & learned how to record them. At our next session, participants will learn how to input the marks into the national record.
