Deeply disappointing to see this. Unions are an important and effective way to preserve worker rights and codify many of the things that make places like this a "special organization." Not to mention retaining and attracting talent

We recently had 4 bargaining sessions in 2 weeks. We made some progress in those sessions, but we’re feeling a real lack of urgency across the table. Management has said they’re interested in wrapping things up and we need them to start acting like it.

This was particularly galling: IHS provides Native Americans w/health care services, serving 2.6M people w/the highest rate of drug- and alcohol-related deaths in the US. It paid claims for inpatient substance use treatment for just 18 patients a year on average from 2018-2022.
