I had decided not to share non-academic stuff on this account. Now here’s an academic one: students in my alma mater, Sharif U of Technology, running for their lives in the university’s parking lot, escaping the Islamic Republic regime’s armed forces. INSIDE THE UNIVERSITY.

Here’s another video, showing the students arrested for the crime of protesting against this brutal regime being pushed into vans with their heads and eyes covered. This has all happened today. I repeat, inside the university.

Iranians never wanted an Islamic Republic. I need ppl to know this. It was a left wing revolution that allied w Islamists. Once they won, the Islamists killed the socialist/communist leaders, hijacked the revolution, and called it Islamic. Iranians have been fighting since day 1.

Really interesting new NBER working paper: Among all admits to Wellesley (a women's college), those who enrolled were twice as likely to major in Economics as those who didn't. They attribute much of this effect to gender-related variables: female peers and instructors.
