Please find the most recent publication from CTCPR Trials & CIRL in JAMA 👇 In this randomized experiment embedded within the recruitment of the world largest flu vaccine trial (DANFLU-2 trial), we testet which invitation letter would increase the likelihood of trial participation

The very first paper from DANFLU-2 - the largest individually randomized influenza vaccine RCT ever conducted – is officially out in JAMA: An RCT embedded into the recruitment phase testing the impact of recruitment letter design and color scheme. ja.ma/3Gfixqa

We randomized almost 1 million >65 yo to receive 1 of 3 different recruitment letter formats with 1 of 3 different color schemes in a 3x3 factorial design. Primary outcome: enrollment in the trial.

In our post hoc analysis of the randomized STEP trial, ARBs and CCBs appeared more favorable for reducing composite cardiovascular outcomes than diuretics and beta-blockers. Full article here (open access): bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… CTCPR Trials & CIRL RigsHeart 🫀🚨

Confounders, Effect Modifiers, and Mediators: Dealing With “Third Variables” in Cardiovascular Epidemiology: Circulation 🥸 Epi 101 from PhD times; nice work from the TIMI group. 😱 Few definitions below; always good to understand the difference between these 👇👇👇

New CTCPR Trials & CIRL study: Elevated hs-troponin T in PSVT without heart disease means higher 30-day mortality. ▪️ 65%+ had raised troponin ▪️ 30-day death: 2.4% vs <0.01% ▪️ No long-term impact 🫀 Useful for early risk assessment 🔗pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39549773/
