Today Team Venus investigated that plants disperse their seeds in lots of different ways. They learnt that some seeds are transported by wind, water, animals and some seed pods are designed to explode. Today we made a seed pod and watched how far our seeds dispersed.

Look at our amazing robots made from recycled materials! Team Earth made robots as part of our topic on toys. We enjoyed using the art studio to build shared robots thinking about the size and shape of the boxes and how to join them together. They look like very friendly robots!

Team Saturn had a wonderful time making bunting today for our VE Day garden party! The children had so much knowledge to share about VE day and many children told us stories of family members who had served in the war or lived at that time. What a brilliant day! 🤩🎉

This week in Team Venus we have been exploring food chains in science. The children used their knowledge of habitats to make food chains. The children learnt that animals are all dependant on each other to survive. We used new scientific vocabulary such as consumer and producer.

Team Neptune were exploring the importance of the Torah to Jewish people. They created their own questions then researched the answers. Finally, they had a go at writing their name in Hebrew. They discussed why the Torah is sacred and compared it to their own thoughts and beliefs

Team Saturn have been working so hard learning their times tables up to 12 X 12 to automaticity! These children should be really proud that on all their recent soundcheck games they have scored 25/25! Well done everyone! 🤩👏🎉

Inspired by Henri Rousseau’s lush jungle scenes, Team Venus explored the idea of layers in art this afternoon. Using our own photographs of green nature, we ripped, arranged and layered the images to create textured vibrant backgrounds for our own masterpieces.

Team Neptune learnt this song in Spanish today. It’s supported their ability to ask someone “where are you from” and also how to reply “I’m from …” some lovely pronunciation of “Vito” with the “b” sound. Well done. 👍
