In life, most of us are guided by what is right and what is wrong. When something is wrong, we must speak up and stand our ground despite what lies ahead? This is such a moment in Canada's life. It's not a time to back down. #selfrespectmatters

I believe it’s critically important to be grounded in reality. For 40 years, I’ve been asked about UFOs. There’s simply no credible proof that UFOs have visited us. While it’s fun to imagine, it hasn’t happened. Hopefully it will happen one day and they will land and say hello.

I had to change a tire on my car today. First time in decades. Didn't even know about the keyed nut they now use to prevent tire theft. That's what that funny adapter sitting in my globebox is for. Live and learn.

Quote 1 last week from Prime Minister Mark Carney: “The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over”

Quote 2 last week from Prime Minister Mark Carney: “It’s clear the US is no longer a reliable partner. It is possible that with comprehensive negotiations, we could reestablish an element of confidence but there will be no going backwards"

I came across this sentence in an article in the NYT written by Britta Lokting and I liked it: "Quiet the mind, and find pleasure in small acts and observations"

What I find more difficult to fathom than President Trump’s ignorance of the consequences of his tariff policy (domestically & globally) is the fact that a majority of Americans elected him. He is clearly not a student of history, nor are, it would seem, a majority of Americans.

Just finished reading « Is Earth Exceptional? » which asks the obvious questions: how did life come to be on Earth and are we alone in this vast universe. I learned a lot

To sum it up: President Trump is convinced his tariff strategy will work although he concedes there will be pain and it will take time. The crucial question is HOW LONG Americans will give him to lower their costs and create the jobs he promised, before their patience runs out.

The televised gathering in the White House of President Trump and his cabinet members bending over backwards to fawn all over him is truly something to behold.
