Toronto Centre is home to community builders and changemakers! At the King Charles III Coronation Award, we celebrated 26 people making a difference through their time, hard work, and love. Their commitment to strengthening our community defines the spirit of Toronto Centre.

First up, #CSW69 Ministerial Roundtable on national mechanisms for gender equality. "Canada is ranked first for gender budgeting best practices amongst OECD countries – further proof that gender equality is not only the right thing to do, but also the smart thing to do."

Minister Ien of WAGE had the chance to connect with Luxembourg’s Minister for Gender Equality and Diversity Yuriko Backes to discuss the importance of women's participation in peace and security, and pushing back on the pushback. #CSW69

A delightfully warm bilateral meeting between Aurore Bergé, France’s Minister for Gender Equality, Diversity and Equal Opportunities and Minister Ien of WAGE. Canada and France are long-standing partners in #GenderEquality.

Always a pleasure to meet w/Hon. Isalean Phillip, Minister of Social Development & Gender Affairs of #StKittsAndNevis. Ministers Ien & Phillip had a rich exchange about engaging men & boys in #GenderEquality, and how affordable child care is integral to women’s economic empowerment.

The always inspiring ASG Felipe Paullier shared how UN Youth Office is working to make multilateralism more effective by meaningfully including young people in decision-making. Youth are the future, and Canada looks forward to continuing to support the work of #UNYouth.

Minister of Gender & Children’s Affairs, Isata Mahoi, shared the incredible progress made in Sierra Leone on maternal mortality & efforts to combat gender stereotypes. Ministers also discussed cooperation on eliminating female genital mutilation & child, early & forced marriage.
