I haven't mowed the lawn since & the wildflowers/weeds were coming along nicely. I went away for 3 nights and was curious to see what it was looking like when I turned the corner. Some do-gooder has mowed it all down 🤦‍♀️. The surrounding lawns are overgrown so I've no idea who.

I spent 3 nights in the coastal Burren & it was so windy every photo was a battle. Along with the hundreds of plant photos I have these lovely photos of a Meadow Pipit, a Wren, a hare & an awful photo of a Whitethroat, who sang for 3 days solid but evaded me until my last morning

So JINX LENNON played my favourite song off the new album tonight and introduced it with a shout-out from the stage for me 😊. Was worth driving up to Galway for. And we also had the amazing Róis before that too! The Tin Church on 20th is his next gig eventbrite.ie/e/jinx-lennon-…

Would any @bsbibotany members be able to help me identify this plant? I saw it in West Clare, Ireland, where the habitat was both coastal and limestone pavement. I know it's a Hebe/Veronica but I'm not sure which. Possibly a garden escape.

Here’s Mark English making major Irish Athletics history in not just taking a ‘3 metres of track’ chunk out of his own Irish record but going sub 1.44 & taking his 3rd win in a few weeks from 4-5 metres off the pace entering last 100m. Strong elite running from the Flying Doctor.

One for the Limerick people in the audience. Spread the word to anyone with children in the preteen age group. They might be glad of something like this a few weeks into the summer holidays.

Ringed Plover chicks must be right up there as one of the cutest camouflagers we have. From a distance, they're impossible to see among the rocks and stones of beaches.

The council has let large areas at the back of Castletroy Park turn into meadows & it's become a brilliant oasis. Tonight I saw Mucilago crustacea (Dog Vomit Slime Mould), Greater Knapweed and Marsh Ragwort, not common plants/fungi to me. Purple Loosetrife looking fab too.
