Growing up in Tecamachalco, Mexico, Dr. Margaret Dominguez realized math and physics were keys to her many questions about the world. "I was good at math and loved it. When I told my parents I wanted to study physics, they said I'd be able to answer any question in the universe."

Today, Margaret is an optical engineer at Goddard, where she supports Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. She's helping develop Roman's "grism" - a combination of a prism, which separates light into different wavelengths, and a grating, which bends the light to help measure its intensity and spectrum.

Margaret is passionate about outreach and recruiting young women and minority students to STEM fields. In her free time, she teaches Jazzercise and enjoys walks with her husband, also a Goddard optical engineer. Read more about Margaret and her work: go.nasa.gov/3s7BZue
