It is frightening how much I love this beast. He thinks I hung the moon, too. 🩶

He’s such a gentle giant, too. Watching him gasp for breath in the Texas summer is hard. We had it managed last year and he was out, but not this year, no way. He’s much more comfy in the barn during the day even if he hates it. But it’s only a for a few weeks… he’s a sweet boy.

He’s beyond sweet and really wanted to be a good boy, he just didn’t like to be in a stall. He’s had some crappy humans in his life, he’s lucky to have had an amazing one in Arizona and now here in CenTex. They all should be loved like Teddy is. 🩶

Happy birthday Mama… eleven years without you went by too quickly. I sometimes wonder which of the critters here you’d love most and then realize you’d love them all, just like me. I hope the rack of lamb is perfectly prepared and the white wine flowing up there today. Give

Watching her heal has been a joy… I know she’s bored so I just keep telling her only a couple more weeks. I think she understands… 🩶

Every July 5th with no injuries is a good July 5th. 🩶

So yeah, I loathe the mud. It’s been raining a lot and it’s icky. But every time I want to complain I am reminded of how lucky we all really are. My heart goes out to all of my neighbors to the north who have lost so much. 💔

We’re typically battling crunchy grass and drought cracks on the ground, so we’ll take this. And the horses appreciate the green grass and cooler temperatures, for sure. (Maybe so do I?!?)

He’s the best… ♥️

Everyone was enjoying the pleasant morning before we heat up later. Happy herd, happy Margaret. 🩶

He’s quirky but kind and nothing much really bothers him. He gets along with everyone and really loves his humans. It’s crazy to think that someone dumped this diamond…

I used to tease her about missing the rolling green fields of Kentucky and ending up here, but I’d argue she’s as happy here in her second retirement as she’s ever been in her whole life… And I love her, so so much… 🩶

He’s funny, he gets super jealous when we spend time with any of the other horses. He’s found his happy forever and wants to protect it… after all he’s been through, I can hardly blame him. 🩶

And we did a bunch of dirt work on Saturday, just in time for more mud… sigh. It has been cooler and nobody is complaining about the lack of green grass. And we know things could be worse so we’ll take it!

This pretty blue blood trusted nobody when she got here. We let her take her time and before long she decided she wanted to be our pocket pony. She loves George and he’s super protective of her, too. #NationalDayoftheHorse (it’s every day here, though)

Glynis is an OG. She was two days old when she and her mama Gladys came here for safety. This sweet nugget is now three years old and personality plus. Like her mama she doesn’t like to be messed with much, but she’s down for a kiss and a scratch pretty regularly… 🩵
