Today is the anniversary of the death of Lee Rigby, a soldier from Middleton who was murdered by terrorists outside a military barracks in south London on 22 May 2013. Every year we remember Lee and thank him for his service to our country and his local community. #lestweforget

Today marks the anniversary of a car bomb in 2013 in China where 30 people lost their lives. Today is a tough day for so many people and my heart is with everyone who has to deal with yet another anniversary of losing their loved ones.

Eight years on, I will be thinking of the 22 lives lost in this horrific attack, as well as all the survivors who's live were changed forever. Salford and Greater Manchester will never forget you.

The Manchester Arena attack was a terrible moment for our city and my thoughts are will all the families affected. The 8th anniversary of the attack is a chance to also reflect on the determination of Figen Murray and her campaigning for Martyn’s Law which is now an Act.
