Winter Fuel Payments are transferred in NI. Scottish Government and NI Executive will both receive a mechanical uplift in their funding as a result of the change in England and Wales. We are calling on NI Executive to confirm quickly that the same new threshold will apply in NI. #Pensioners

We warmly welcome this support from the Minister- it is vitally important that the NI Assembly work with Westminster to ensure all terminally ill people have a minimum income to meet their needs. No one should die in poverty.

Great to see the NI Assembly debate and support an important motion on this issue. Followed by actions from our Communities Minister to raise it with Ministers in Westminster. #DyinginPoverty

Carers face significant challenges in paying energy bills because they may not be able to work full time, and they may need to keep their homes warmer for the person they care for. #CarersWeek2025 #CarersWeek #Carers #EnergyCosts #FuelPoverty

Snap! Great to see the overlap in our core issues for developing school communities that prepare and support bereaved children and young people. #wecandothis #CompassionateSchools

Keir Starmer’s u-turn on PIP does nothing to help people newly diagnosed with a life limiting condition. Terminally ill people are already dying in poverty. And now, people will be thousands of pounds worse off. It’s a scandal. The government must rethink its reforms.

3️⃣ However, people who are diagnosed with a life limiting condition after April next year WILL be affected if they have more than 12 months to live. People could be denied PIP and people caring for loved ones could also be denied carer’s allowance, which are worth thousands of

We’re urging the government to rethink this decision and make sure everyone diagnosed with a terminal illness has enough money to live a comfortable, dignified life.
