It's normal to find fawns alone without a mother. Do not disturb them! Their survival instinct is to freeze, and even though they may allow you to touch them or pick them up, it is not a sign of friendliness or asking for help. They are terrified by us and stress may kill them.

FYI: the folks at the Nova Scotia SPCA let me know that they are looking for gas card donations. 🐾 They give these cards to volunteers and workers who drive to rescue animals in evacuation areas. #HowYouCanHelp #NSFire
