Jake and his wife Kerri lost their 2 children in the last 2 years. Cecelia was born prematurely in 2023 and passed away in their arms 89 minutes later. Jake decided to run the Boston Marathon in 2024 in her honor.

While training for 2024, they were pregnant with Landon. At their 16-week appointment, there was no heartbeat. Now, Jake is running Boston again for the Miles for Miracles team with Boston Children's Hospital for Landon's Legacy.
