The study by ETH Zurich and BOKU University found that Alpine #Rivers in Switzerland and Austria have a significant portion of runoff older than one month, indicating that #Floods mainly consist of older water, not recent precipitation. brnw.ch/21wMj15

How much of groundwater seepage & mixing occur around main-river knickpoints ? We conducted extensive synoptic sampling, mixing & groundwater modelling to learn more about this in our recent AGU (American Geophysical Union) #GRL publication! So happy to see this paper out: agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/20… 🥳
