As a member of Business and Trade Committee it was distressing to hear how subpostmasters were unwilling to come forward because they did not trust Post Office. I have urged Kevin Hollinrake MP to support those affected by this scandal to now come forward & claim the compensation they deserve.


I am continuing to campaign for doctor-led Urgent and Emergency care provision at the Hospital of St Cross. This morning I highlighted with Health Minister Helen Whately MP how important enhancing this service is for my constituents here in Rugby.


It was a great pleasure to mark the 25th anniversary of the Livia Award in Parl. The award was set up by my constituents, George and Giulietta Galli-Atkinson, in memory of their daughter Livia & honours the work of Metropolitan Police officers who investigate road traffic incidents.

As a former small business owner, I want to see SMEs - the lifeblood of our economy - succeed. Making it easier for them to compete for Government contracts will help them to grow and succeed & I am pleased that Alex Burghart confirmed this remains a priority for Government.
