Caught up with former Royals' All-Star Billy Butler today and asked him about Jac Caglianone. Butler's message to fans: "Be patient with him. Young players take time to develop." His message to Cags? "He's got a ton of power ... Go out there and be Jac." #FountainsUp KCTV5 News

Royals Manager Matt Quatraro on the hype surrounding Jac Caglianone: "We saw this one the road. Everybody is excited to see Jac play ... He's extremely humble. He comes from a great family. He's had a lot of good lessons along the way in how to handle this." #FountainsUp KCTV5 News

Entering the series against the Royals, the Athletics had won just 6 games since May 10. They just came to KC and swept the Royals. Royals have now lost six in a row and are 34-38 (10-22 since May 9).

Really appreciate Bobby Witt Jr. speaking with the media today after the Royals were swept in back-to-back series at home. Witt: "It wasn't good. It was bad. ... We just got beat by teams that we could beat. Can't have that happen. ... You gotta play 9 innings."

When I worked in Minnesota, the Twins’ TV play-by-play crew joked that Kauffman Stadium’s scorekeeper never saw the Royals commit an error and would always give the Royals hits. Great example of the latter here — because this is 1000% an error on the A’s but ruled a hit for KC!
