Greetings from Arizona, where I’m about to speak to a statewide conference of judges. The topic: Crisis Communications in the Judiciary. And the temperature is going up to 118 degrees this afternoon! 🔥🔥

We've done a lot of work for the Arizona Supreme Court over the years and they've been kind to invite me back over and over again to train judges from across the state. This morning, we had a great session on Crisis Communications for the Judiciary.

Mostly outside of the US, Christians face as much or more danger and threats than other religions. Voice of the Martyrs is a good resource on this very worrisome trend.

This is huge. The unbridled tyranny of what the Constitution calls “inferior courts” is over. In our constitutional republic, only SCOTUS is co-equal to POTUS (and, of course, a majority of Congress).

In the normally cordial (and courtly) world of SCOTUS opinions, this is the judicial equivalent of a pro wrestling high flying takedown from the ropes.

I regularly advise attorneys and judges on legal ethics matters, which means I read a lot of cases where attorneys receive professional censure. Here's one I've never seen before: Lawyer mistakenly wires $500 to the wrong person (whose bank says don't return it until our fraud

In today's SCOTUS majority opinion, Justice Amy Coney Barrett offered a blunt message to district court judges who issue nationwide injunctions.

On June 2, 2025, Sergeant of the Guard Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Jay took his final walk as a Tomb Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. In a powerful farewell, he laid roses at each crypt of the Unknown Soldiers, then walked off the plaza hand in hand with his 8-year-old son, Finn.

This is brilliant. Back in my days playing in bar bands (I stopped when I went to law school) I might have undertaken such a fun jaunt as this!

The notion of being on law reviews as a proxy for having a sharp legal mind is a thing of the past. Many law schools vote students onto law review like it was a student body president popularity contest. There's little prestige left in what was once a prestigious endeavor.

Thanks to the great Chris Stigall for bringing me back on his program to talk SCOTUS. And watch the clip to see how I blame him for (maybe) causing me to commit what could be a very embarrassing moment in the history of Supreme Court arguments. Fast Eddie Caiazzo

This is a fair and well written story about the Texas floods. It has happened before. There were warnings. The NWS offices were staffed. It came overnight on a holiday weekend in a flood prone area. A worst case scenario in terms of timing and magnitude. texastribune.org/2025/07/05/tex…
