New OA paper in Soc Sci & Medicine. In our own and English Longitudinal Study of Ageing data, we found that belonging to sport and exercise groups can protect against depression, and evidence that this is because these groups both reduce loneliness and support people to be more active. doi.org/10.1016/j.socsā¦
