Deary me. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 beaten 24-19 by Eddie Jones' 🇯🇵 in Kitakyushu. Winless run now extends to 18 Tests. What an awful Test match. 🇯🇵 were truly dreadful for most of that match and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 still found a way to lose, failing to score after the break. Another new low.

Defeat for Wales in Japan was always a distinct possibility. But to lose in that fashion, from such a commanding position, to a Japanese side with eight debutants is desperate stuff. Heat/fatigue a clear factor in the final quarter. 18 defeats in a row.

At 8.30 tonight on Sky Sports it’s England Rugby v Los Pumas George Ford earns his 100th cap for England and coach Steve Borthwick tells me “George Ford, if he wants to, is a future England coach …he understands the game like very few with an unparalleled rugby brain.” #ARGvENG

Fantastic England Rugby performance in victory against Los Pumas Defended valiantly as indiscipline threatened to undo them in first half before dominating the second 40. George Ford demonstrated why he should be in 23 for first British & Irish Lions Test v Wallabies #argveng

Anthony Elanga has completed a permanent transfer to Newcastle United. We would like to thank Anthony for his contributions in a Forest shirt and wish him every success in his future career.

The person who can call off this deal is, of course, Gibbs-White. He pecked the badge, pledged his troth to #NFFC yet his silence suggests he is determined to move to Tottenham Hotspur

It’s vanity in the extreme, but …reading one’s own obituary must be one of the few things life denies us but which we’d love to be able to do.

The Test was magnificent and British & Irish Lions series winners. The best part of it, though, was the Wallabies’ performance. Once the world’s dominant force the Union code is now in retreat in Australia. Perhaps, just perhaps, those 80mins at the MCG might just help arrest the slide

Thirty-nine years ago I was on the inside rail for the same race and recall the same colour silks battling out one of THE great races …

Played Royal Lytham Golf Club yesterday. Significant changes maturing and magnificent; its new bunkering stiffen the challenge. In my view, it’s the toughest challenge on The Open rota; a course harshly judged by its uninspiring backcloth. And, above all else, a fabulous club!
