🧵 I can see a lot of work went into this but how do I know this is for midwifery? I am 5 pages in before the word midwife appears. If it includes midwives then the midwife needs to be mentioned and acknowledged...preferably in the title/front page. 1/

We have the CNO supported by multiple nursing staff (6) & a midwife 'advisor' (1). Midwifery representation not even mentioned in the message from CNO - 'wider team'. Midwives are not advisors to nurses. Midwifery is a legally separate profession&this does not read well 2/

⭐ Why is the midwife an 'advisor' but the nurses are 'Deputy Chief Nurse' or 'Project nursing officers'? ⭐ Why do we have a chief medic, a chief dentis& a chief nurse in Department of Health but not a chief midwife? Language matters. Nursing is not representing Midwifery but.. 3/

That would fall in line perfectly with strategic priority 2 - leadership. Let's see some midwifery leadership for documents that pertain to midwifery in Department of Health in the future please 5/5
