This is a really important article. There are plenty of human embryos available for research, and even when patients would like to donate them for research, in most cases this does not happen. Now more than ever, we need more human embryo research. rbmojournal.com/article/S1472-…

The field of embryo models is advancing very quickly. @vincentpasque and I have tried our best to present the current status of the field and deconstruct all the complexity in this review. If you want to know more keep reading! cell.com/cell-stem-cell…

What kind of childhood makes a top scientist? Is it enough to have all the right traits (brilliance, grit, etc) or do you need the right family too? And why should we care? A 🧵 on our paper on the Nobel Laureates. A teaser: the income distribution of the laureates' fathers.1/N

To mark this year's Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, we've created a collection of miRNA-related papers Ambros and Ruvkun have published with us over the years, alongside a few reviews that showcase some of the many roles miRNAs play in development journals.biologists.com/collection/107…

Curious embryo fact 1/25 The embryo is the only machine that needs to function while it is being built. This is made possible by extraembryonic tissues. They allow the embryo to breathe without lungs and to eat in the absence of digestive organs. #embryo #reproduction

Let's talk about numbers and human embryos. In 2019, 675 human embryos were donated for research in the UK, and 172,915 human embryos were discarded. Meanwhile, 58% of patients would like to donate their embryos for research theguardian.com/science/2023/d….
