Trump’s policy of appeasing Putin and “protecting him from really bad consequences” only reinforces the partnership between Russia and China.

It will be interesting to learn more about this massive Russian intelligence failure. The FSB is responsible for border control and domestic security. But for ca 20 yrs, they were busy chasing liberals & Yehova witnesses. This is the downside: in real war, you are clueless.

In central Moscow, a man is grabbed by six men who put him in the trunk of their car. No one interferes, and the car has official plates and a blue light, typically reserved for authorities.

Repressions continue. In Volgograd, a young student is sentenced to 12 years in labour colony for treason. Allegedly, he transferred 3,000 rubles (ca 30 USD) to someone in Ukraine.

Former Russian Minister of Culture, Michail Shvidkoi, suggests bringing back a formal agency for government censorship. Giving regular instructions to Russian journalists etc, he suggests, is too cumbersome. It is more efficient to have direct control over media and culture.

The Swedish government continues its support for Ukrainian defence. Hopefully, this can be a source of encouragement for allies currently on sitting on the fence, and a way to create a more just burden sharing.
