Today’s image was provided by Martina Morchio, one of our final year PhD students from the School of Clinical Dentistry. The picture displays a human lingual neuroma, where axons are marked in green, perineurial cells in red and Schwann cells in blue. #ImageOfTheWeek

We had a lab cocktail night - the theme being ‘science lore’. Everyone had to make a cocktail based on some lesser known science stories to share with the group. See all the cocktails below! 1/9

Congrats to Martina Morchio on her great work on spatial and single cell sequencing on human trigeminal nerve samples finding a neuro-immune signature associated with pain in this cohort - biorxiv.org/content/10.110… She did a lot of the sequencing and analysis while visiting our lab

Really excited to share the work from my PhD characterising neuromas from patients with and without neuropathic pain using spatial and single-cell transcriptomics. Would not have been possible without my supervisors and our amazing collaborators Ted Price director of CAPS at UT Dallas Diana Tavares Ferreira ishwarya
