Sometimes I feel like a broken record and I guess I kind of am? Lol. Here’s a thread from 2019 about Starlight, the same company I’ve been tweeting about today. At the time, landlords predicted they’d be able to raise rents from ~1200/m to ~1500/m.

Do you know who is actually 'coming hat in hand' for government handouts from Doug Ford? Therme. Shoppers Drug Mart. 7-11. Staples. The De Gasperis family. Greenbelt developers. PricewaterhouseCoopers.

New data shows the populations of BC, Ontario, and Quebec declined by 9,000 people in the first quarter of 2025 due to anti-immigrant policies. I'm assuming that means the homeless population has declined by 9,000 as well since housing is about "supply and demand" - right? Right?

There has never been a war in history where 80% of the country has been destroyed, 100% of the population displaced, and 50% of the deaths children. Call it what it is: GENOCIDE.

Prior to last week's group eviction hearing where we raised collective issues we have faced since PSP Investments and Starlight acquired our buildings, there were negotiations that broke down. This is the landlords' final offer to tenants, and why negotiations broke down. (1/7)

Since Starlight and PSP Investments acquired our buildings we have faced frequent day-long, building-wide water shut downs. No water to cook with, bathe, drink, or flush the toilet. Our landlords’ response during the eviction hearing: “Got a bathtub?” thestar.com/news/gta/more-

From Sunday to Tuesday there were recurring power outages at 71 Thorncliffe Park. Tenants could not cool our apartments during the heat wave. Today, the power is shut down for a previously planned outage. These issues didn’t exist before Starlight and PSP Investments took over.

When a planned massacre happens at all hours of the day, 24-7, for months, years, it's not a mere massacre. It is genocide. The textbook case of genocide. And it is on our conscience. Each and every one of us, whatever our beliefs, are weighed down by it. haaretz.com/israel-news/20
