And gestures... I recently engaged learners in an activity where I had them focus only on my gestures ... they were then given the opp to ask me questions to confirm what they saw

It all depends on the success criteria :)

As we continue to reflect upon and make sense of the new math curriculum, we might want to consider structuring learning goals to explicitly embed the SEL skills

Reflecting during a learning experience as part of assessment includes: noticing thinking and understanding, interpreting what is noticed, confirming what is noticed through questioning, and responding to what has been confirmed
