Math outcomes in BostonPublicSchools are even lower than ELA scores; 82% of Black and Brown 3rd graders are below proficiency. We are failing to provide a bright future for all students to succeed & thrive if they can’t read or perform basic math. #bospoli #BostonSOTC

Public schools are a public good. Anyone who cares about our kids or our future understands that. Shutting down the Department of Education puts special education, school counselors, after school programs, reading specialists and more all at risk.

“Democrats can’t be the party that believes in equity as a core principle while simultaneously being complacent about math scores still languishing below pre-pandemic levels and reading scores hitting their lowest in more than 30 years.”

If you live in Wisconsin – or have friends or family who do – there’s an important Supreme Court race happening right now. And there’s only one candidate ready to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of Wisconsinites: Judge Susan Crawford. We’ve all seen how important

“The state’s retreat is not a sign of success — it’s an abdication of responsibility. Massachusetts leaders once insisted that Boston’s schools were too broken to be left alone. They were right. And yet, that’s exactly what they’re doing.” Marcela E. García

Developing curriculum is a full job. What we're NOT going to do is have half-baked, unproven, shortsighted materials for some kids just because their teacher "feels" a certain way. We make changes based on what's best for kids - evidence, not feelings. And, you chose to work here

For a generation, we used the "Discrepancy Model" in education. If kids weren't 2 years behind where we thought they should be, we wouldn't intervene. Educators and systems went along with it, and now wonder why trust must be rebuilt.

Every Massachusetts student should have a guaranteed right to become a reader. Right to Read act is proposing necessary guardrails that will protect students and ensure we are using evidence based materials to teach students how to read. #literacy #mapoli MassEducation

Just heard from an American volunteer surgeon who was inside the Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza when it was bombed by Israel today. He's okay, but others are not; a child died while being evacuated. We can't be sure what munitions were used, but it's a good bet that the US is
