Today, we AKU Community Health Sciences launched the Public Health Grand Rounds series. The inaugural speaker was Dr. Ishrat Hussain, one of the most respected academicians and public servants. Truly enlightening to hear the challenges and solutions for Pakistan from a learned expert!

The evening took off with Chair Asad Ali MBBS, MPH reflecting on the first 6 months of his journey at AKU Community Health Sciences. We were ecstatic to hear that the Chair, who also wears the hat of Ass Dean research, and who was elected after an international search- feels like he’s finally come ‘home’

Thanks to Dean Adil Haider, also a Professor of Community Health Sciences, for his enthusiasm and appreciation for the staff and faculty of AKU Community Health Sciences. Also he confessed, that it was at CHS that he mastered the art of “batting” and developed deep love for Public Health

The recent paper by Maryam Huda Sameen Siddiqi et al. presents the first attempt to use the main public GH-CEA database to estimate cost-effectiveness in the context of HBPs at a country level. This approach will support future evidence generation in the area IJHPM
