I'm very thankful to Johanna Ivaska and Aleksi Isomursu for letting me participate to this great project! I am now continuing the work and hope to make other interesting discoveries about negative durotaxis 🤩

Ivaska Lab James Conway et al., demonstrate: increased number of (integrin) clutches enables cell spreading and adhesion signaling on soft when cells are able to engage multiple ECM ligands | PNAS pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… great collab with MisvikBiology Aleksi Isomursu Gautier FOLLAIN

Our latest work with Jonna Alanko, Sara Hernández Pérez, Pieta Mattila and others is out! We established a new method for dynamic micropatterning (dynamic control over cell size, shape and cell-substrate interactions). Key takeaways below. | onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/sm… 1/5

Congratulations Johanna Ivaska 🎉👏

Check out the cool recent review from Michal Dibus Omkar Joshi and Johanna Ivaska highlighting emerging tools in cell adhesion research, now published in COCEBI! Link here: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

It's so cool that J Cell Science plants a tree for every paper they publish 🌳 ours is apparently a silver birch! Positive and negative durotaxis – mechanisms and emerging concepts forest.biologists.com/landscape/?id=…

Super excited to share our preprint from my #PhD work CRUK Scotland Inst on how #metabolism of micrometastatic cells influence #sEVs to generate invasive microenvironments. Huge thanks to Cassie Clarke & Jim for the amazing supervision and all our collaborators for their invaluable input!

My commute this morning ☺️ Ivaska Lab in #TheHappiestCountryInTheWorld TurkuBioscience is starting our European Research Council (ERC) AdG funded project BorderControl on tumor-matrix crosstalk limiting cancer progression. We are looking for postdocs! Pls contact me for more info

Currently at the microphysiological systems workshop in Cargèse, learning cool stuff about organoids and organs-on-chip, and enjoying the beautiful landscapes 🤩 Looking forward to present my poster tomorrow ! #microphysio2024 IES Cargese

Third of the year and the biggest review article now out! Massive effort from @MeganChastney, Jasmin Kaivola, Veli-Matti Leppänen & Johanna Ivaska! Discover all about integrins in migration, invasion and cancer right here: rdcu.be/dVB6n Congratulations to the team 🥳!

New pre-print! Gautier FOLLAIN and team develop a super cool pipeline to work out the intricacies of immune and PDAC cell adhesion to HUVECs and extravasation under flow. Fantastic collab with @guijacquemet lab and Research group of Professor Marko Salmi. Congrats🥂 Take a look here: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

The best way to rejuvenate after an all-day lab meeting, you ask? An action packed game of laser tag (pew-pew!)🔫🔫 Major missing :( boss Johanna Ivaska
