A warm welcome to everyone attending the NW1 Maths Hub and Turing NW Maths Hub Secondary Conference; we are pleased to start the day with Yorkshire Steve presenting based on the Ofsted maths report offering valuable wisdom to our teachers! Thank you to Friends' Meeting House Manchester for the venue.

Thank you Yorkshire Steve for a brilliant session and for answering questions from our borough teachers at the end. Steve said he became a maths teacher as he wants pupils to leave education mathematically competent and confident; an aim shared across the North West.

After lunch, Assistant Maths Hub Leads and LLMEs introduced the group to some of the secondary programmes on offer with short taster sessions.

Thank you to David and Deebu, our LLMEs at Didsbury High School Laurus Trust for leading taster sessions after lunch on Multiplicative Reasoning and Mathematical Thinking. They got the tables up and moving around and looking at the differences in their approaches.
