I flew to Austin this week to crash the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) winter meeting and try to find my best pal, Leonard Leo! Leo is the chief architect behind the conservative takeover of the courts, and he also happens to be RAGA’s biggest supporter 💰💰💰

At #SOTN analogy I came up with while sleep deprived: “a day on the Internet is like a day on the New York City subway, sometimes you have a great day and sometimes you see some really weird stuff” feel free to use lol

Hey folks – my phone system is having some tech difficulties and hanging up on callers that opt to leave voicemails. Your calls are important to me, so we're working hard to get it up again, but to be clear, I’m a NO on the CR, so if that’s why you’re calling, I hear ya!

This is a really good point. I don't think either @BedoyaFTC or Rebecca Kelly Slaughter should accept that they have been fired, at least until the Supreme Court overrules Humphrey's Executor.

An international UF student here on an F-1 visa has become the Trump Admin’s latest kidnapping victim. Despite the fact that he was in the process of renewing his visa, Felipe Zapata Velasquez is being held at the Krome Detention Center and his family hasn't heard from him since

Any member of Congress who purchased stocks in the last 48 hours should probably disclose that now. I’ve been hearing some interesting chatter on the floor. Disclosure deadline is May 15th. We’re about to learn a few things. It’s time to ban insider trading in Congress.

This is so dystopian. There's no other word for it. A U.S. official hopes that hundreds of people shipped to an El Salvadoran prison are stuck there for life without charge or conviction. This is so deeply un-American, and will be a dark stain on our history.

Lawful citizenship and clean criminal records didn’t save Japanese Americans from forced internment during WWII. If Congress and the courts don’t stop this now, there’s no end in sight.

The House’s 10-year ban on state AI regulation would wreak havoc on our country. The language is so broad that it could upend everything from state privacy law to contract law. It could even break the internet. I will do everything in my power to stop it. techpolicy.press/the-big-beauti…

When the revolution comes, it will be led by Democratic congressional schedulers, by far our most adept and ruthless soldiers.

The govt is using the shooting as a pretense to censor the internet and deplatform progressive creators and Democrats continue to go along with it. They’re going to jawbone all day, ram through KOSA, repeal section 230 & worse unless we fight back hard to protect online speech

In the 1940s and 50s, the government didn’t technically ban communists from working in Hollywood. They just hauled them before Congress, threatened studios with boycotts or reputational damage, and let the chilling effect do the rest.

Okay a lot to unpack in free speech news this week from calls to criminalize hate speech to jawboning of a major network over a late night show. TL;DR threats of government censorship and censorship by proxy should concern us all
