They even have a “private bridge” in the Lake District, with a wee squinty bit off to the side for commoners to exercise their “right of way” into the hills. #LandReformEngland #TouristAttractions

This is such an amazing thread. (Thank you, Rachel!) When I was a young man, the mountain books I read were the ones about brave, bearded white men. For lots of reasons (including having a two year old daughter), I’m very glad this history exists. We can do more to share it.

Listened to an absolutely cracking episode of the The Adventure Podcast while I was running last night with Matt Pycroft talking to Hugo Tagholm. So much to unpack but flipping heck did it speak to me, especially around activism and influencing policy. Thanks guys podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the…

I don’t hide the fact that I’m an enormous George Monbiot fan, but this takes my admiration to the next level. Could it have been worded any better? No. No it couldn’t.

But it’s been cold this Summer - global warming my bottom! Great bit of #dataviz by Neil Kaye All the blue years were colder than this Summer. This Summer would have been the warmest of the decade in the 1960s. Changing perception of what’s normal.
