Zohran Mamdani wants to have NYC operate city run grocery stores. Could their possibly be a worse market for government to enter? The profit margins are already extremely tight due to extensive competition. There is no way in the world NYC government can compete.

You can start a political party... it just won't be very functional without ballot access. The goal of political parties should be to elect candidates to office. The American Party will have exactly zero members elected to federal office for many years.
