There's no political justification for the disorder we've seen. But if people want to get into the blame game, these are the facts. The Tories were in power for 14 years. Labour have been in power for 4 weeks. Blaming Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper for this is just ridiculous.

On "the people aren't being listened to". The whole country was listened to 4 weeks ago. We had an election. Keir Starmer won it. Some may not be happy about that. But that's tough. He now has to be given the time and space to try and resolve these complex issues.

We're consistently told we must condemn "Asian grooming gangs". We're told we must condemn "Islamist extremists". We're told we must condemn "left-wing/liberal elites". Fine. Then we're going to call out far-right racists too. However uncomfortable that makes their apologists.

Professions most likely to pick up the pieces and face the consequences of whatever society throws at them on the day to day: teachers, nurses, police officers. So why should these professions have to fight the hardest on workload, salary and respect?

Teaching is an exhausting profession. Every day, teachers are expected to put on endless performances for children. It's like being in a theater or a pantomime. Teaching is an art form that should never be underestimated.

Labour want to change Ofsted. How can they go into a school year with a system they know isn’t right and causes distress and anxiety? Pause inspections for a year, reflect on Big Listen, consult, rewrite, and pilot. Launch in Sept 2025. Safeguarding inspections only this year.

Finding the ‘Keep calm’ it’s only a proposal regarding the new Ofsted framework talk very annoying. The fact that they are proposing this means they have not changed. If they had - this proposal would have never happened. It is a million miles from what is needed.
